Please full-view. (Seriously, it's weird - her face looks much better in full-view) -
Since she was a child, clever and forthright Adienne has single-mindedly aspired to lead her country, but the odds are against her: seven thousand years of history have never seen a female leader. The difficulty of pursuing her ambition has made her cold and hard-hearted. She has also become pedantic, critical, and haughty. To put it bluntly, she's a nightmare.
Her outspokenness brings her to the attention of the corrupt governing party and their ubiquitous elite guard. Fearing for her safety, one of her mentors sends her away from the capital on an errand, under the supervision of another mage, Calen, a nonconformist expatriate ranger-type, and something of a maverick.
Under his tutelage, and through her partnership with the beautiful dapple-grey stallion Firraen, Addie (as Calen insists on calling her, much to her annoyance) mellows; and, realising that she will never become president, learns to lighten up and stop worrying about putting a foot wrong.

Addie's of my story characters, that's just her introduction, I don't want to spoil more interesting character and plot developments that occur later on. I made this to try and pin down her appearance, and for practice. I'm not entirely happy with everything, but I think it's a definite improvement over my other attempt at a person.
Painted in Photoshop CS, 8x10 inches, 300dpi, all details done by hand.

Edit: I fixed the shading on her nose, making it appear straighter and her face a bit more symmetrical. I'm not too fussed about it, though, to be honest - my own face isn't completely symmetrical if you look closely. Most people's aren't.
This is very beautiful and evocative - the material and background are especially great. you have an exceptional talent and it never fails to show, I love looking at your art. The face seems a little skewiff to me, but it's very slight... the nose and mouth facing in a different direction to the eyes, or something. Still, she has pretty features. The expression is quite blank and sort of polite, which doesn't classically fit the personality in your comment, although it could be supposed to be just one of her 'faces' - so that's really a nitpick too, and not to do with the art itself. If this was designed to be a sort of 'summary' portrait of the character, maybe a different or more lively expression would be better? I don't really know, of course, she's not mine! Anyway-- I love it and will be faving.
Beautiful details! Especially that scarf. Also I see many different textures here which is very pleasing. It looks almost like a photograph, but with that great painterly quality. Amazing work. Great job on the hair and skin too.

I would rather live my life as if there is a God,
and die to find out there isn't, than live my life
as if there isn't, and die to find out there is.
